The ink of our Universal Ink Refill Kit is dye-based and not pigment-based ink. Dye-based ink is composed of liquid colorants. Pigment-based ink is composed of particle colorants. While dye-based ink is more affordable, the printing quality has no significant difference when compared to pigment-based ink.
While dye-based ink give more vibrant prints, pigment-based ink can resist fading longer.
When it comes to image printing, dye-based ink can lasts for up to 30 years. In right conditions, images printed in pigment-based ink can last up to 200 years.
